We Are Fortunate To Have You! ♥️

Hello fellow Shroomers and Shroomettes! My name is Edgar Sanchez and I’m the proud owner of The Fortunate Mushroom. I have always appreciated the mysteries and wonders of all fungi, but mushrooms in general. Growing up in Danville, AR, there was an awesome forrest i’d hike with my buddies. In that forest, there would be mushrooms growing in all sorts of areas in the forest. There were white spikey looking mushrooms way up in the trees (lions mane), tiny orange “bubble” looking mushrooms growing behind mossy rocks in shaded areas (Honey Mushroom primordia), and solid-white mushrooms with tiny dots on them (Leucocoprinus sp.). I took so much appreciation from these incredible works of art.

Later, I dipped my toes into the culinary world and was curious to combine all types of food in my dish! Mushrooms included. Man oh man, nothing was better than a simple butter sautéed portobello seasoned with steak seasoning and bacon bits! I knew I wanted to try my hand at different mushrooms. Problem was, there was no other mushrooms offered other than bellas and expensive shiitake!
I knew I wanted to grow my own mushrooms, and different kinds too! As a novice grower, I grew plenty of oyster mushrooms using the PF Tek. Then I learned about bulk substrates, the rest was history…
________________________________________

I started growing mushrooms at the beginning of 2021 and established my own farm at the start of 2022. While I’m not considered a professional grower, I’m most definitely a passionate grower. Im in it for the life-run!

I named my company The Fortunate Mushroom because I want to promote sustainability and offer affordable produce for the public. I also want to educate the public about the wonders of fungi and health benefits they have to offer. In the grand scheme of science, fungi are one of the most misunderstood topics, and I’m here to make things exciting!
